Turning Two
After going all out for Cooper's first birthday I was content to have something a little less key to celebrate his second birthday so we decided against having a party and instead made the most of the weekend and headed up to the sunshine coast and spent the day showing Cooper all of our old favourite spots we frequented before he came along.
First stop was the sunshine plaza to pick up his presents and then headed to Caloundra where we spent the morning playing in the water park and playground. After a picnic lunch it was time to head to a mate's house where Cooper had a blast playing with his new found girlfriend Ruby.
For his actual birthday we spent the day at home enjoying the fact we didn't need to go anywhere in the rain and had a lovely visit from Cooper's Aunties and Nanny before they headed off to start their adventures at boarding school. I am little disappointed in how disorganised I was hence the number 2 design but I figure I redeemed myself with the colours and freckles...though don't ever listen to your husband when they say one packet is enough!

Yesterday
10 minute tantrum over what he was going to wear...around the house.
9 spontaneous cuddles and kisses initiated by Cooper.
8 hours spent telling myself that every thing will be ok and *this* won't last forever.
7 phone calls to labour hire company's and listening to their lies and bullshit.
6 minutes spent dancing in the lounge room like no one was watching.
5 minute's taken to do the day's art activity.
4 wee accidents on the car mat.
3 hours to vacuum and mop the house.
2 wee's on the toilet!
1 Coffee.
0 bank balance.

Beating the Heat
After a somewhat mild summer thus far Queensland turned it up a notch over the last few days and it has been absolutely scorching! Determined not to just sit around in the comfort of our air-conditioning we decided to put the boat in and create our own breeze as we powered up the creeks and out to the bay at Redcliffe.
After having no wind all day the moment we anchored just past the bridge it picked up and as there was no way I was getting out of the boat in the middle of the channel to go swimming I was forced to find my sea legs quickly.
The boys however had no such qualms and jumped in without fear, even the jellyfish didn't faze them, though Coop was very content on staying inside the tube...smart boy!

There's a Carnival at the park
For the past few weeks I have driven past the same park wondering why the carnival rides were still there from the Carols until the other day my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to see if they were actually running.
Well it turns out they were and even better all the rides were $2 a pop! There isn't a huge range but the 9 rides that are going cater for big or small and because it's so quiet you end up getting to ride by yourself. Cooper had an absolute ball riding the motorbikes and dodgem cars...though he was a little miffed he couldn't join the 'big' kids on the fast rides.
We didn't realize the massive slide was in fact a water slide so we will definitely be going back with appropriate clothes and towels and conquering that sucker later in the week!!
If you are on the north side of Brisbane these school holidays and want to check it out you can find it at the Pine Rivers Park (Gympie Road) Strathpine.
